History
Kerevitaş, the first company to enter the retail market with its SuperFresh brand in 1990 with fruit & vegetable, seafood and pizza varieties, has introduced the Turkish consumer to the 'frozen product concept', which was extremely innovative for that time. SuperFresh has added the first frozen puff pastry and pastry varieties of the sector to its product range in a few years. SuperFresh is a brand that has a rich product range in all frozen product categories (vegetables & fruits, bakery products, seafood, potatoes and meat products).
SuperFresh, which expanded its product range in 1993 and introduced canned tuna to the market, took its place on the shelves with the 'first canned corn' in 1994. Then, it enriched its product range with canned products and ready meals.
Its innovative attitude in the sector and the importance it attaches to quality and hygiene have made SuperFresh the generic brand of the sector. In other words, Turkish consumers have tasted many products from frozen vegetables to pizza and from puff pastry to canned corn for the first time thanks to the SuperFresh brand.
Today, Kerevitaş produces its frozen food products in its facility in Bursa consisting of 6 main production facilities, located in Akçalar neighborhood with a 131.000 m2 open and 43.000 m2 closed area and its factory in Afyon Emirdağ with a 253.000 m2 open and 33.000 m2 closed area. The finished products, produced with high technology, are kept in high-capacity frozen, cold and dry air warehouses in the Bursa and Afyon facilities.
With Kerevitaş buying all shares of Besler Gıda ve Kimya Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. (“Besler”) in 2017, it expanded its field of activity to include the production and marketing of vegetable oil and margarine. The Kurtköy Oil Factory, which started to be established on an area of 90.000 m2 in Istanbul in 1992 was commissioned in 1994 and started to produce industrial margarine, primarily for Edible Liquid Oils and the Food Industry.
In 1995, the company completed its product portfolio by producing Margarine for breakfast. With the reliability of the products and the spread of sales and marketing activities to a wide base, the company has started to increase its production capacity rapidly.
The capacity, which was 60,000 tons in 1994, was increased to 120,000 tons in 1996, 180,000 tons in 1998 and 220,000 tons in 2000. In addition to these developments, it increased its capacity again by 100,000 tons with the Adana facilities it acquired in 2000. In 2003, by establishing the first and only Fraction facility in Türkiye as an oil producer, its Istanbul capacity was increased to 250,000 tons. Today, it carries out its oil and margarine production in three production facilities, one in Adana, one in Istanbul and one in Brunei. It has a total capacity of 658,000 tons/year at its three facilities. Besler Gıda manufactures a total of 50 brands and 417 SKUs under the Consumer category, mainly Bizim Yag, Teremyag, Luna, at its three facilities, which it has structured in the light of international quality standards.
